The second of this week's two episodes of OPEN AGENDA is now ready for viewing (S2 E38). We will introduce you to newly appointed County Councilman, Dave Ennis (District 3), who brings a lifetime of business management, construction management and community service experience to the county government. Councilman Ennis is an advocate for youth sports and is presently chairing a golf tournament fundraiser to be held at the Green Hill Country Club on October 3rd that will benefit middle school sports programs across Wicomico County. We also discuss the manner in which your tax dollars are being allocated to capital improvement projects, and explore some of the Executive's glaring inefficiencies in the use of those funds, poor project cost accounting practices, inadequate project planning, and inability to anticipate total project costs. These are the kinds of problems that experienced business people and construction managers know how to resolve, rather than politicians who lack the requisite experience but are mighty good at spending someone else's money.
