We open this episode with a discussion about the influences of social media on political discourse. Is social media a reliable source of news? Does information presented on social media (accurate or not) tend to evoke reactionary responses and affect the well-being of users? We continue with discussion of the County's impending agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to actively participate in the enforcement of Federal immigration law. More has happened since this episode was taped on Tuesday, so it's important to also watch the Special Edition of Open Agenda (S2 E41) for additional information. This situation is evolving quickly and there is much information that the Executive and Sheriff have not conveyed to either the County Council or the public.
