On the Friday, August 22 installment of OPEN AGENDA (S2 E36), we focus on the future Wetipquin Creek State Park, which has been shrouded in mystery. At a West Side community meeting about the park held last week, local residents expressed many concerns, including how it will affect their property values and quiet enjoyment of their homes. The meeting was attended by County Councilmen John Cannon and Jeff Merritt, as well as State Delegates Chris Adams and Tom Hutchinson, but since they have not been privy to details, few answers were to be had. Conspicuously absent from the meeting were Delegate Barry Beauchamp, DNR officials, and anyone from the County Executive's office. Don't affected residents have the right to know? Why have DNR and the County Executive been so unwilling to inform citizens about things that affect our lives? Another meeting is coming up next month and hopefully taxpaying citizens will get some of the answers they deserve.

On a brighter note, we bring you video footage from the Wicomico County Fair held last weekend. This annual event is a tribute to our agricultural community and offers lots of fun for the whole family, as well as great food. We also cover the ribbon cutting for the new Tidal Health Edward Q. Wilgus Community Clinic in Salisbury. This new facility will provide healthcare services to an under-served community and is already spurring improvements to a neighborhood that has long been in decline. Tune in and be informed.
