We discuss the prospect of state and federal funding cuts for services benefiting disabled persons in Maryland. Our guest, Cody Stevens, is the President/CEO of the Anchor Initiative, which is a non-profit organization advocating for disabled persons and their families. As Maryland enters into a time of fiscal crisis caused by decades of poor stewardship of the state's treasury and policies that discourage new business development, our most vulnerable populations may be among the first to suffer the consequences—particularly here on the lower Eastern Shore where support services for disabled persons are already inadequate. But where does the money come from when the state's coffers are running dry? Does Annapolis need to rethink its funding priorities? Does Gov. Wes Moore really care about the most vulnerable among us or does he prefer to allocate tax revenues to the things that will buy him the most votes? Tune in and be informed.
